Tonight President Barack Obama addressed the nation and once again tried to convince us that spending more money on federal problems will actually create jobs; history has proven that it will not. The President and his advisers have once again lost an opportunity to communicate with American people on what is important and have not provided tangible solutions for our economic crisis.

If the President and this Congress are actually serious about putting an end to their year-long spending spree, they must stop the proposals that we can’t afford: Cap and Trade, Health Care Reform and “Stimulus” boondoggles.  The programs that he continues to promote are those that prevent our economy from moving forward.

Congressman Steve Kagen has walked lock-step with this President and Nancy Pelosi on these spending programs at the expense of jobs in Northeastern Wisconsin.  Kagen further proved his inability to control spending in his own office by recently earning the “Biggest Spender” title in Congress.

It’s easy to talk the talk, but it will take real character to stand up to those in Washington to do what’s right by the people of Wisconsin.  I challenge our Congressman to start listening to the voters here in the 8th District, or the voters will find someone better to represent them.
