Appleton – A national organization designed to increase transparency in government named Congressman Steve Kagen Congress’ biggest personal spender this past quarter. Ranking above all his congressional colleagues, Steve Kagen spent $452,000 of taxpayer money on…his office.
The Sunlight Foundation recently released the data on Congressional Office expenditures and listed Steve Kagen as #1 in the “Most Expensive Offices” category for overall congressional office expenditures.
“With record trillion dollar budget deficits we deserve more from our representatives in Congress. Kagen has voted for, or proposed, hundreds of billions in tax hikes on hardworking Americans and has presented himself as a defender of taxpayer money…all while he’s spending more on his Congressional office than any other Member of Congress.” stated 8th Congressional District Republican Candidate, Reid Ribble. “This is a black eye on Wisconsin and the 8th District and Congressman Kagen should be embarrassed about it.”
